I have cut out bread, pasta, rice completely. I have 1-2 pieces of fruit a week, so most carbs are veggies. I feel a lot of energy, sleeping well, no bloat feelig in my gut. I have flattened my belly and now I am trying to carve out the 6 pack. I have been completely satisfied with the paleo lifestyle. I have had a few hiccups/weak moments during the contest, but for the most part am not "craving" anything bad. Thanks Todd for starting the contest. It has created good habits with the food diary. Writing it down makes you rethink when you might grab something crappy to eat.

I am feeling GREAT!!!! My energy level has exploded. I sleep better. I am more accountable with the foods I eat AND what I feed my family. Also, at first my grocery bill went way up, but i noticed when I started leaving off the "bad" stuff the cost started evening out. i love trying out new Paleo recipes and tweeking mine to be Paleo friendly. Before this challange I was boring with my dinners, now...watch out Iron Chef!

One of the best parts is looking and feeling 1000 times better at 40 than at 30. :)

  8. Nicole - I'm also feeling great and having fun with the contest. Believe this is due to a few key factors:
1.) Feeling satisfied with the food and drink (although occassionally stray but getting better as the contest goes on and much better than when I first started crossfit)plus having fun with the recipes and guaging the edibiity factor (thx for sharing ideas/recipes).
2.) Experiencing the benefits of sleeping >7.5hrs/night which has increased my efficiency and focus.
3.) Building priceless team camaraderie which has improved the fun factor.

I feel great and am seeing a lot of benefits including increased strength, flexibility, and endurance. I feel like I am eating a lot but log my food pretty closely and chart for calories, protein, fat and carbs. I usually end up a little short on the protein but I am working on that. I enjoy cooking daily and am looking at food as fuel to help me live better and accomplish my fitness and lifestyle goals vs. food as a primarily or completely sensory experience. And the comraderie and group motivation and inspiration are great!
