So those of us who are keeping up on the research are aware that eating a smart, ancestral diet mitigates a whole host of common "western" ailments like cancer but this seems to me a worthy cause and so it will be my first 5k ... and hope to inspire more folks to join me. Lets make a good showing from CrossFit LifeSport...i am going to try to get Rogue Fitness in on the action as well http://www.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp?ievent=418590
My first day of adherence to my own checklist was Monday and i was 90% - having only a smidge of sugary coffee creamer in the morning... today will be 100%!

Didn't know this will be your first 5K. That's awesome. Would suggest you find or appoint a team captain and get a CF team set up... I would volunteer, but don't think I can because I'm already signed up on the Aegela Monster team.
ReplyDeleteMay want to plan CF matching t-shirts for those interested in running or walking the event (would discourage the "sleeping in for the cure" option just on principle...)... No pink shirts allowed unless you're a survivor. There's T-shirt design contests and a whole bunch of other events and stuff that you can get sucked into, but for the first year, getting people signed up and there is probably plenty.

No Cancer survivor shirts needed... i am thinking we will do some cancer PREVENTER t-shirts! :)

ReplyDeleteHere's info on the team T-shirt design challenge if you are so inclined. Prevention is good...more on that thought later.

Ill join you on your "prevention" run, which will be fun I'm sure.T-shirt idea," CF prevention and intervention to the better, healthier you!"
